Potenza RF microneedling offers an advanced, proven option for patients who want more than surface refreshment. By delivering radiofrequency energy through ultrafine needles, this treatment targets both the upper and deeper layers of the skin, supporting firmness while also improving texture and tone.
At Aère Aesthetics, RF microneedling is carefully woven into a broader strategy that may include injectables, regenerative treatments, or skincare. We tailor settings, depth, and treatment zones to your skin type and goals, aiming for noticeable refinement that still feels like you.

Potenza™ is an FDA-cleared RF microneedling handheld device that penetrates the dermis’ outermost layers and creates small wounds in the skin to allow topical products to penetrate deep into the dermis. In addition, the Potenza™ Radio Frequency (RF) microneedling system adds radiofrequency energy to the microneedling procedure.
RF energy is delivered through tiny needles and pushed deep into the dermis. This energy advances skin tightening by soft-tissue coagulation. The RF energy also heats the underlying layers and triggers collagen and elastin production. Potenza delivers RF energy so deeply that results are quicker and more dramatic.

At Aere Aesthetics, we use the Fusion tip on the microneedling device for maximum results and enhanced topical penetration. The Fusion tip breaks through your skin barrier to promote the penetration of topicals by up to 67%.
The Potenza device can be combined with neurotoxins and fillers with hyaluronic acid. Nutrients can be topically applied to the skin after the microneedling session, allowing for the nutrients to penetrate deep into the skin layers. To keep you comfortable, your provider may apply a topical anesthetic.
Once you are numb and comfortable, the handheld device is held against your skin, and the radiofrequency energy and needles penetrate the skin. There might be a stinging or burning sensation, and light pressure as the needles are inserted into your skin. Potenza treatments take about 45 minutes, and you may need a series of three or four treatments, six weeks apart, for optimal results.

You may be a good candidate if you:
RF microneedling may not be recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have certain medical or skin conditions, have very recently tanned or burned skin, or have a history of poor wound healing. Your provider will perform a comprehensive evaluation and may suggest alternative treatments if something else is a better fit.
There is little downtime after the treatment, and you can return to your daily activities right away. The treatment area may be slightly red, and some swelling may be seen, though these symptoms resolve within a day or so.
We typically recommend:
About two weeks after your first treatment, you should see smoother and more glowing skin. However, it may take 2-6 months to see the final results because your body needs time to begin producing collagen and elastin after the treatment.
Improvements from RF microneedling are gradual and cumulative. After a recommended series, results can last many months or longer, depending on your age, lifestyle, and skincare routine. Occasional maintenance sessions help sustain firmness and texture gains.
Aère Aesthetics pairs advanced devices like Potenza with a thoughtful, natural-first philosophy.
We don’t simply turn on the machine; we place RF microneedling within the context of your overall plan, balancing it with injectables, regenerative treatments, and skincare when appropriate.
Our providers are experienced in customizing energy settings and treatment patterns for different skin types and concerns. The aim is always the same: effective tightening and textural improvement that respects your skin’s integrity and your preference for refined, not overtreated, results.
Most patients benefit from a series of 3–4 treatments spaced several weeks apart. The exact number depends on your concerns and how your skin responds.
RF microneedling reaches deeper layers with controlled heat, making it especially useful for laxity and more advanced texture concerns. Traditional microneedling is often best for milder issues or as a maintenance tool. Your provider will explain which is better for you—or if a combination is ideal.
Topical numbing is used to make the procedure more comfortable. You may feel warmth and pressure during pulses, but most patients find it tolerable.
When expert application, RF microneedling can be an option for a range of skin tones. Your specialist will assess your skin type and adjust parameters to prioritize safety.
Many patients feel comfortable returning to work within a day or two, depending on redness and personal preference. Planning your first session when you have some flexibility is often helpful.
