Potenza - Patient Care Instructions
Potenza Pre-Instructions:
- *Please plan 1- 2 weeks of no major events.
- *Please keep any travel plans in mind when booking this treatment.
- *Please do NOT wear any jewelry to your appointment.
- Keep Hydrated- drink lots of water 24 hrs before (at least 8 cups), or hydrating fluids.
- Avoid drinking alcohol for 24 hrs
- 7 days prior avoid all exfoliating treatments retinol, and exfoliating acid preparations.
- Shave visible hair from the treatment area.
- Male beards should be shaved on the day of treatment.
- Bring a hat to the treatment
- Gentle cleanser
- Avoid blood thinners and anti-platelets for 5 days if adding PRFM.
- Avoid tanning for 2 weeks prior.
- If instructed to pretreat, start 2 weeks before.
Potenza Post-Care:
- Bruising is a possibility and avoid all blood thinners for 5 days post treatment.
- Gentle cleanser- do not scrub or exfoliate the skin for 2 weeks.
- Avoid makeup for 24 hours and after 24 hours, you can apply mineral makeup until redness resolves
- If redness or swelling is present after tx, use ice pack with barrier like face cloth
- Wash your hands thoroughly before touching the face, there are micropathways open in the skin and the hands can introduce bacteria
- If skin feels tight and dry, apply moisturizer frequently
- If you currently have skin breakouts, you may find this condition worsens temporarily. Ask your provider about how to treat this.
- Do not pick at treated tissue- doing so may cause hypo or hyperpigmentation
- Avoid UV rays and apply sunblock >30 SPF daily. *Untinted.
- Avoid alcohol consumption if possible.
- For 24 hrs refrain from high intensity aerobic exercise or activities that increase the body temperature like saunas, hot tubs, steam showers or exercise (i.e. jogging, weight training, kick boxing, etc.)
- Call your practitioner if any problems develop, concerns regarding rash, itching, erythema, etc. for more than 24 hrs.

- No neutral pad on tattoos or hair
- No active infection
- HSV, shingles, or fever blisters- pretreat with antiviral medication
- Pregnancy or breast feeding
